After Surgery

Once surgery is over, your surgeon will talk to your supoort person. The nurses will monitor you until you are ready to go home.

When you have met the conditions for discharge from your surgeon and the center, you will be able to be discharged.

The nurse will review the home care instruction with you and your support person. Due to anesthesia, an adult will need to stay with you for 24 hours following surgery.

Discharge instructions and any prescriptions will be reviewed and discussed with you and your support person that will be staying with you for the next 24 hours. When your pain is manageable and you meet all of the discharge criteria, we will escort you to your vehicle following surgery.

A nurse from the surgery center will call you the next business day after your surgery to see how you are feeling and to answer any questions or concerns you might have.

If you have an emergency, please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. If non-emergent, please call the surgeon’s office.
